为什么不用 had been born？

问题描述

She said she _____ (be) born in 1992.

为什么这儿要用 was born 呢？用 had been born 不是更好吗？ 

她说是一个过去式 在她说之前出生的用过去完成时啊！！

同意张老师的观点。根据《张道真英语语法》：如有明确的表示过去时间的状语时，可以保持原来时态：

I know he was born in 1980.

I knew he was born in 1980.

They said the Goths invaded Romein A.D. 410.

注意，be born 在表达某人生于某时某地时（即与过去时间／地点连用时），总是使用一般过去时。
