The brakes failed and the car crashed into a tree. 煞车失灵，汽车撞到树上。
这里为什么用介词 into？难道是撞到树子里面去了？不可能吧！

这个 into 不是普通意义的“进入”，而是指意外地撞上或碰上，通常与 crash, bump, plow, slam 等表示撞击意义的动词连用。如：
The truck crashed into a parked car. 卡车撞上了一辆停放着的汽车。
He almost bumped into me as he rushed past. 他飞奔而过时几乎撞到我。
The car swerved and crashed into the wall. 汽车突然转向一边，撞在墙上。
A train plowed into the barrier at the end of the platform. 火车撞上了月台尽头的栅栏。
Joanna heard him bump into the table and curse again. 乔安娜听见他撞到了桌子上，又骂骂咧咧的。

介词 into 有时并不表示“到......里面”。例如：
