There was a suggestion by the teachers that the meeting should be postponed for a week.
问题一：by the teachers 怎么翻译呢，尤其是 by 不知道怎么翻译，连“提出”这样的过去分词都没有，所以应该不是被动语态吧。译为：来自老师们的建议？可以吗？
问题二：书上说表命令、建议等含义的动词之后的宾语从句用虚拟语气，这句话是一个名词表示建议，其后从句必须用虚拟语气吗？
问题三：老师这个 that 从句是什么从句啊，是同位语从句吗？好像和中心名词没挨着啊。

问题一：句中的 by the teachers 实为 put forward by the teachers 之省略，所以可翻译为“由老师们提出的”。句意为：老师们建议会议延迟一周。

介词 by 的类似用法：

It’s a play by Shakespeare. 那是莎士比亚写的剧本。（= It’s a play written by Shakespeare.）

He has a painting by Hockney. 他收藏有霍克内的一幅画儿。（= He has a painting painted by Hockney）
