对于双宾语动词来说，如果其中的一个宾语变成了先行词，则处于定语从句中的双宾语动词可以省略介词 to或for。又如：

He never got back the money which he had lent (to) him. 他从未收回他曾借给他的那笔钱。

I thanked him for the position which he had procured (for) me. 我感谢他为我找到的那个职位。

另外，若双宾语动词用于被动语态，则也可省略双宾语动词后的介词 to 或 for。如：

A pen was given (to) me by Tom. 这支钢笔是汤姆给我的。

This watch was given (to) me by my father. 这只表是我父亲给我的。
