Planes took off one after another. 飞机陆续起飞。

One after another we fell asleep.  我们一个个睡着了。

One after another all his plans have failed. 他的计划都一一失败了。

one after another the buses drew up. 公共汽车一辆接一辆地停下来。

A whole series of problems have arisen one after another. 一系列的问题接连出现了。

有时也可用作主语。如：
