than usual与than usally的辨析

问题描述

下面句子中的 than usual 是作状语吗？但为什么是用形容词 usual，而不是 usually 呢？

This means I could get up an hour later than usual, as schools in China begin before 8 a.m.  这意味着我每天可以比以往晚一个小时起床，因为在中国学校每天上午8点之前就开始上课了。

▲than usual 是习语，不能说成 than usually，它的意思是“比平常”。又如：

He left home later than usual. 他比平常还晚离家。

He came earlier than usual. 他比平常来得更早。

There’re more people here than usual. 这儿的人比往常多。

You seem even more stupid than usual today. 你今天好像比平时更加笨了。

▲类似的还有as usual（像以往一样），不用 as usally。如：

Jane was much the same as usual. 简同以往几乎一样。

He went to see her the same as usual. 他像往常一样去看她。

Needless to say, he came late as usual. 不用说，他像往一样又迟到了。

As usual, the lion’s share of the budget is for defence. 预算中的最大一项照例是国防费用。

than usual （比平常，比平时）和 as usual（像以往一样）都是习语，其中的usual不能改为 usally。例如：
