late和later的用法与区别

If you are even 15 minutes late, your friend will get angry.
Could you please make it half an hour later？
请问这里的 later 可以换成 late 吗？
什么时候用 late, 什么时候用 later 呢？

1. late 作形容词表“晚的；迟的；已故的；最近的”；作副词表 “晚；迟；最近；在晚期”。如：

You're late again. 你又迟到了。

He was laid to rest beside his late wife. 他安葬在亡妻的身旁。

Some late news of the war has just come in.刚刚收到一些有关战争的新消息。
