▲英语中，“more...than...”连接两个并列的成分，如果是两个形容词或副词，要用原级形式。该结构表示“取舍关系”，用于对主语身份或品质的两种可能的比较、选择和取舍。如果把than之前的部分当做A，than之后的部分当做B，那么，应翻译为：“是A，不是B”，或者“与其说是B，不如说是A”。例如：
Jack is more a writer than a poet. 与其说杰克是位诗人，倒不如说是位作家。
Tom is more foolish than stupid. 与其说汤姆笨，倒不如说他傻。
