《朗文当代》当中包含了这两个条目:
1. may as well = might as well: spoken used to suggest that someone should do something, because there is no good reason to do anything else 也就是在没有充分理由去做其他事情的情况下,建议某人最好/不妨去做某事。
If there's nothing more to do, we may as well go to bed.
You may as well tell us now - we'll find out sooner or later.
2. may well used to say that there is a good reason for a reaction, question, or feeling 这个短语用来表推断,可译作“很可能”。

B: You may well ask.
