It may (well) be that 结构表示that 从句的内容是（很）有可能的。如：
It may be that he will come tomorrow. 他明天或许会来。
It may be that we can find what we want in the sea. 或许我们可以在海里找到我们所需要的东西。
It may well be that the train is delayed. 很可能火车晚点了。
So it may be that the confirmation willcome from laboratory experiments. 因此，我认为将来的确认可能是来自实验室的实验。
