由 every…and every…; each…and each…; many a … and many a …; no ...and no…等连接单数可数名词构成并列主语时，谓语动词用单数形式。如:

Many a boy and many a girl has seen the cartoons. 很多男孩和女孩都看了这部卡通片。

many a +单数名词+单数谓语； many a +n. and many a+n

More than one /many a +单数名词 作主语，尽管意义上表示许多/很多，但其中心词为单数名词，谓语动词仍用单数形式.
