▲play the match 完全可以用于被动语态（the match + be played）。如：

The match will be played at a neutral venue. 比赛将在中立方的赛场举行。

The match was played in spite of the awful weather. 尽管天气恶劣，比赛仍然进行。

A pitch inspection will determine whether or not the match will be played. 场地检查结果将决定这场比赛能否进行。

▲类似地，英语也可能说 the game + be played。如：

Whether the game will be played depends on the weather. 球赛是否进行要看天气而定。
