表示“用……”的with sth与using sth有区别吗

The furniture is built using wooden pegs instead of nails.钉制这些家具用的是木栓，而不是钉子。

我觉得其中的 using 可以换成 by using（即看作句子是省略了介词 by）。但我想这个 using 可以换成 with 吗？因为 with 也可以表示“用……”啊，即说成：

The furniture is built with wooden pegs instead of nails.

我个人觉得用这位网友说的有一定道理，这里用 with 代替 using 也是可以的。同样地，下面句子中的 using 也可以换成 with：

1. Sand the wood to a fine finish using (=with) steel wool. 用钢丝绒打磨抛光木材。

2. She drew a picture using (=with) a crayon and coloured pencils. 她用蜡笔和彩色铅笔画了一幅画。 on the ground. 她平躺在地上。

句中的 using 是现在分词，using wooden pegs instead of nails这个分词短语在句中作状语，表示伴随状况，不能改为 by using ...。如果用介词，应该用 of, 不用 with。例如：
