高考短文改错的困惑(But用于句首与for some time的意思)

Our family are all music lovers. But neither my parents nor I was able to go to a concert for some time. Yesterday, however, we could go to an open air pop concert. We arrived at the place long before it started.

1. 为什么 but 这里单独用？

1. 为什么but这里单独用？

【答】but 作为并列连词，按说不能单独引导独立的一个句子，只能引导一个并列分句，之前可以加逗号表示停顿，也可不加。but 虽也可以单独引导一个句子，但我认为，如果单独引导一个句子，but 就不能叫作并列连词，而是副词（同样表示转折），目前几乎所有词典都认为是并列连词。对此，我不敢苟同！

2. for some time是什么意思？

【答】for some time 指谓语动词表示的动作或状态持续的时间，译为“一段时间，有些时间，很长时间”都可以。注意：它是一个时间段，谓语动词一定是持续的，终止性动词的否定形式则变成持续的。...was not able to go to a concert（未能去看音乐会）即是一个持续的动作。跟I haven’t seen her for some time. 是一个道理。
