省略的是 is。whatever 引导从句，必须在从句中作成分。result 为主语，系表结构，省略了is，whatever 是表语。如果再加上 it，则 whatever 无成分可做。实词不做成分，一定是错误的！

另外，即使没有定冠词 the, 加 it is 也是错误的。因为 it 指代 final，不能说 fanal is a result, 这是逻辑错误。得加上 it may have。如果这样的话，动词 就不可能省略，也就不会有这个问题了。

同意曹老师分析。Whatever在引导让步状语从句时，如果从句是系表结构，就可以省略从句中的be动词。这也是近年高考所涉及到的一个难点。
