El Nino sees warm water, collected over several years in the western Pacific, flow back eastwards when winds that normally blow westwards weaken, or sometimes the other way round.
请问句中的过去分词短语collected over several years in the western Pacific 是什么成分?
El Nino sees warm water, collected over several years in the western Pacific, flow back eastwards when winds that normally blow westwards weaken, or sometimes the other way round.
【分析】collected over several years in the western Pacific,可以分析为过去分词短语作定语,相当于一个非限制性定语从句:which has been collected over several years in the western Pacific, collect用作及物动词,意为“被聚集;被积累”。

El Nino, a Spanish term for “the Christ child”, was named by South American fisherman who noticed that the global weather pattern, which happens every two to seven years, reduced the amount of fishes caught around Christmas. El Nino sees warm water, collected over several years in the western Pacific, flow back eastwards when winds that normally blow westwards weaken, or sometimes the other way round.
因为see 除了见证,经历之外,还有to be characterized by... 例:The world economy saw a rapid growth years ago.
英语原文字典对see的解释,其中一项是to be characterized by 和to be the time or place when something happens,我觉得这里的see就是这个意思。
问句中的过去分词短语collected over several years in the western Pacific 是什么成分?
El Nino sees warm water, which has been collected over several years in the western Pacific
El Nino sees
王老师,无生命主语和see 搭配,我只找到to be the time or place when something happens,但没找到to be characterized by,请教是哪本词典有该释义?
