used to可以表示过去的过去吗

It was said that he liked outdoor sports, which he used to hate very much.

请问这里的 used to 用得对吗? 这里的used to 好像是表示“过去的过去”呀，类似于过去完成时的用法。谢谢各位专家的解答！
