表地点的personnel,reception前不用冠词

问题描述

Visitors must report to reception first. 来客必须先在接待处登记。

See someone in personnel about insurance. 找人事部门的人了解保险事宜。

上面两句中的 reception和personnel均表示地点，意思分别为“接待处”和“人事部门”，但为什么都没有用冠词呢？

reception 表示“接待处”，为不可数名词，其前通常不用冠词（有时可大写第一个字母）。如：

Ask for me at reception. 在接待处找我。

Please leave your key at reception. 请把钥匙放在接待处。

He had a call from Reception. 他接到了接待处的电话。

Visitors must report to reception first. 来客必须先在接待处登记。

但若受到定语修饰表示“…的接待处”，则通常要用定冠词。如：

I met my friend at the reception of her office. 我在朋友办公室的接待处见到了她。

另外，在at the reception desk (在接待处)中也要用冠词。如：

The woman who was sitting behind the reception desk gave Parker a big smile. 坐在接待处的女子向帕克热情微笑。

personnel 表示“人事部门”时，不可数，其前通常不用冠词。如：

See someone in personnel about insurance. 找人事部门的人了解保险事宜。

I went to personnel to ask about the company retirement program. 我去人事部询问公司有关退休的计划。

Everyone in Personnel has attended a media skills workshop. 人事部门的每个人都参加过媒体技巧研讨班。

但若用作主语，谓语动词可用单数或复数。如：

Personnel has [have] lost my tax forms. 人事部门把我的税收表格弄丢了。
